“I see people who are in pain through no fault of their own. They are in this position because they happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I feel a real sense of connection when I get to see them smile after we’ve performed a procedure at The Brooks Clinic to get them pain relief. I know we’ve made an impact on their life. As a physician, what could be more rewarding than that?”

ASK DR. HENRY

Yes, Symptoms associated with whiplash aren't always obvious immediately afer a collision. There are lots of reasons this happens, but primarily the body's own adrenaline response helps hold off the pain. Patients often say they feel worse on the third day. The inflammation starts to make the pressure worse and produces a pain signal. Paying attention to your body and acting promptly by seeking medical attention is the very best way to eliminate accident pain.
Excellent question! We have lot's of tools in our "toolbox" to take care of pain. Sometimes that means therapy to work the sore parts out. Other times, that means looking at medications or even non-surgical procedures to help abate the pain. What we do depends on many factors - it's not a one size fit's all solution. What your providers will want to know is when you feel the pain the most, what activities make it worse, how long you've been dealing with the pain, and what you've already tried to make it better. That gives us a plan and direction to try interventional procedures that can make a real difference.
